Solar for Christmas?

Solar Power is the must have investment this Christmas, there has been a residential solar boom in Australia for at least the last four years and in Queensland the boom continues.  The reason for this?  Mr Morrissey from Future Sustainability confirms “It’s because solar power works.  People are receiving over 20% return on their investment, solar is providing people with the ability to not have to pay for power bills for the next 16 years!!”   So why wouldn’t you go solar, have a look around your neighbourhood and you will see many of your neighbours have already gone solar and are simply not paying for electricity and are not being subjected to the continuous price rises. 

Like any industry in a boom cycle it is buyer beware.  But Mr Morrissey says, “Consumers need to assess what product they are being sold, there is very high quality product out there at great prices however, there is also incredibly low grade product out there at perceived great prices.  You need to know the difference” 

• Ensure you know the brand of your panels – assess the history and strength of the manufacturer to ensure they will be here over the next 25 years to support any warranty claim and that they have history of manufacturing high quality product
• Ensure your 25 year panel warranty is backed here in Australia and not overseas
• Know the brand of inverter, again assess the history and success of the company
• Ensure you have at least 5 years workmanship warranty  provided by your installers, that they are CEC accredited and are Master Electricians
