Queensland Solar Feed in Tariff

, Posted on 11 Nov 2011

State governments are under pressure to quell a booming number expensive renewable energy incentives with the introduction of Labor's carbon pricing scheme from July next year, according to the Australian Financial Review.

The AFR reported that federal-state negotiations are well advanced to cap measures including capital subsidies and feed-in tariffs for solar panels, in a move designed to restrain the expected jump in electricity prices – a move likely to anger the greens.

Adding to the growing tensions between Labor and the Greens, Labor's energy blueprint to be released later in the year will also support the ever-increasing prominence of liquified natural gas and coal seam gas to provide Australia's power needs.
