MANY of those investing in solar power limit their earnings potential through investing in a system that may be too small for their requirements to fully wipe out their power bill, says Patrick Morrissey, of Future Sustainability.

“Future Sustainability has come up with a solution,” he said.
Their 1.44kW system now comes standard with a 3.24kW inverter.
“This system allows a purchaser to enter the solar market at a small price, with the ability to more than double the system’s solar generation by adding more panels at any time in the future.
“A 3.24kW system on average will produce around $1800 a year, minimum.”

When buying a system with the view to add additional panels in the future, it is imperative to ensure the security and quality of your initial purchase, said Mr Morrissey.

“People looking into the solar market must ensure that the solar power warranties on the solar-power system are no less than 10 years for their inverter, and 15 years for their panels, in addition to the 25-year regulation performance warranty,’’ he said.
There has been a number of new solar-power companies established in recent months.

“People need to be aware that many providers have just arrived to take advantage of the current incentives,” said Mr Morrissey.
“People need to ensure that the system they buy is of a high quality and is going to last many years.

“The only way to ensure this is to check that the systems’ warranties are backed by an Australian-based ASX-listed company, otherwise you don’t know who is securing and supporting your product.”

Mr Morrissey said these warranties were in place to state the quality of a product, its durability and its performance.
“Future Sustainability has the longest ASX-backed warranties in the Australian market,” he said.

The company offers professional sustainability consultants to discuss renewable energy options with customers.
