The Federal Government has kept Solar Incentives for home owners to still enjoy the financial and environmental benefits of Solar Power. There are still excellent incentives available for home owners to purchase Solar Power.
Mr Patrick Morrissey of Future Sustainability says “The time will never be better than today to invest in Solar Power Systems. The reduction the Federal Government has announced essentially matches the lower cost of solar power panels and solar inverters.” But now is the time to lock into the great returns available. Mr Morrissey goes on to say “Home owners who are purchasing solar power systems are now generating returns of anywhere from 11 – 17% depending on their daily electricity consumption. It is a phenomenal investment, take a look at your bank – 5% if your lucky on a term deposit?”
This return is currently achieved through the high feed in tariff scheme run by the Queensland State Government, where homeowners sell their electricity back to the grid for more than double what they pay for electricity from the grid in the evening. Once you purchase a solar power system, you are locked into this program until 2028… that’s 17 years of being insulated from electricity price increases! But this program won’t be around forever. Mr. Morrissey says “Those who make a move and purchase solar power today are the ones who are going to be relaxing with their feet up and money in their back pocket in 5 years time. Those who have not purchased solar power will be forced to pay for their ever increasing electricity bills.” A typical 3kW system will return around $2,000 PA. That is a substantial amount for any family trying to make ends meet , i instead of having to pay it to electricity retailers!” Mr. Morrissey pointed out.
