Clear goes under

Clear Solar, one of the largest rooftop solar PV installers in the country, has gone into receivership, according to The Age. It said the collapse will cost up to 40 jobs, although the company will be bought out by one of its creditors, the electrical wholesaler Middy's, which has guaranteed 500 outstanding contracts to install solar panels. The newspaper said Clear called in administrators Pitcher Partners on Monday morning. Its creditors include Middy’s and ANZ Bank. The solar industry has been warning of an expected shakeout in the industry, with cut-backs in government tariffs expected to cause grief for many companies.
