Another State Turns off its Solar Feed in Tariff - Don't Miss Out Queensland!

Archived News, Posted on 02 Aug 2011

The Western Australian Government has shut down its Solar Panel Subsidy Scheme for new purchases to prevent a massive uptake by homeowners not wanting to miss out, Premier Colin Barnett has said. A day after saying the feed-in- tariff scheme, which pays households for electricity from rooftop solar panels fed into the energy grid, was "being monitored", Energy Minister Peter Collier suspended it.

This has caused many people in Western Australia to miss out on the high feed in tariff for solar power generated and sold back to the grid. Many homeowners have purchased solar power in Western Australia and will still receive the high feed in tariff. Those that will miss out are those who have not yet purchased their system.

A spokesman for Future Sustainability has said, here is another state government that has drawn a line in the sand and stopped the feed in tariff for new purchases. We have seen this time and time again with state governments not announcing a close to the program for new purchases, then closing the program without any notice, forcing many homeowners to miss out.

It pays for people to not wait around as we have seen people miss out across Australia because they have waited too long to purchase and have missed out! Solar Power is still one of the highest returning investments in Australia. Don’t miss out, contact Future Sustainability today to secure your solar power system and your high feed in tariff!
